SoapBox: Ica Images

Although I may be very partial to this vendor because she did my wedding, she is truly an amazing photographer. Ica, from Ica Images, is from the Washington DC area and she came all the way to Oceanville, New Jersey to shoot our wedding. I fell in love with her work after seeing what she had done for my "cousin" Hope's album. Soon after getting engaged we contacted her hoping she would be willing to travel. Not only was she willing and eager, she ended up staying for an additional day to do a "day after" shoot for my husband & I! We are so thankful for her, her skill and now her friendship. She did an amazing job and we will be forever grateful for the way she captured our wedding weekend. She just added 2 posts to her blog about our wedding & day after shoot too, which just made me relive my wedding day all over again

Thank You Ica!
You are simply fabulous!
Follow her blog and "like" her on facebook
She deserves the world to see her work.

Engagement Shoot: Allison & Pat

You can imagine my excitement when my best friend, Allison, got engaged! Not only was I extremely happy for her because she is an amazing person who found the love of her life (who is quite a catch himself), but also so she could start planning her big day! She isn't getting married until August 2011, but I have never seen a bride more ahead of schedule and "on the ball" as this girl.

First things first... engagement shoot for the Save The Dates. So in November my husband and I went down to visit Allison & Pat in Maryland to find some fun locations to shoot.

Day 1: Washington DC
Best photo of the entire weekend. Allison's favorite too!

They were so much fun photograph!

Day 2: Laurel, Maryland & National Harbor
My new favorite picture from Day 2, somehow slipped under my radar until going to post it today.

Allison is in LOVE with cupcakes almost more than she loves Pat.
So of course they had to be part of their shoot.

These 2 photos were taken at National Harbor,
where Pat proposed to Allison a few months prior to these photos.

I truly can not wait for these two to get married this coming August.
My husband & I absolutely love spending time with them
and it is always fun when "work" includes hanging out with friends,
while maybe taking some photos.

Save The Dates: Bailey & Ron

All i do is think about weddings and events. It is all I have ever thought about since I was twelve years old and I have a feeling that it will be all I think about for the rest of my life. So you can only guess how excited I was when I got to begin planning my own day. This is common knowledge to my friends & family so many of them said to me "Oh, you must know exactly what you want!" Well... quite the opposite. I was so utterly confused because I had seen so much I loved.

The first thing I tackled was my Save The Dates. I knew I wanted them to be unique and completely one of a kind. And so the process began. I ended up taking over 10 different invitations I had seen and taking a tiny piece of each to compile together to make my own Save The Date. And the envelope... came to me in the middle of the night. I was so excited about the idea I had that I woke my then fiance up, got out of bed and didn't sleep until I figured out how to make them. Yes, I said MAKE them. Every element of this Save The Date is handmade: the envelopes, the labels, the stamp, the photo stamp, everything!
And I could not be happier with how they turned out.

Decor: Wedding

Caitlin & Bryan got married on 01.01.11 at The Rams Head Inn in Galloway, New Jersey. I have known Caitlin since we were little but I caught her in the middle of her planning when I told her I was getting into the event business. Although she had most of her decor & planning done, she still needed a few finishing touches.

First, return address labels. She had already ordered her invitations and was having a calligrapher address them (something I promised myself I would learn how to do before summer) but she needed a label for the back of the envelope. She could have done a simple homemade one, but we decided to go all out. And they came out beautiful! I gave her several options to pick from...

The options were made prior to seeing the final invitation but they all seemed to work. Caitlin picked her favorite one, we added one last additional detail and her invitation was complete and ready to send!

Next, table numbers. It is really easy to just go with the basic table numbers that your venue supplies, but they are usually basic and pretty boring. Caitlin decided she wanted to incorporate her table numbers into her vision of winter elegance, and this is what we did.

Finally, programs. These may be my favorite part of wedding stationary to design. Caitlin was a guest at my wedding and she fell in love with mine. We decided to change a few things, use her winter theme & colors, and create something unique.

The programs were hand stamped and sewn.
We then tied on a crystal & added rhinestones for the extra sparkle.

Below are the pages of the program.

I was so happy when Caitlin asked me to work on her wedding details, but even happier that I got the opportunity to be a guest at her wedding. It was so much fun to be there, celebrating this amazing couple!
It was truly a magical night.

Engagement Shoot: Katie & Scott

When my friend Katie asked me to take engagement pictures for her, I have to say I was a bit nervous. Although I have a degree in photography, I never had the intention to use it other than for becoming an art teacher. Of course I told her I would, so planning began.

First: location. She wanted somewhere by the water with a South Jersey feel, and we came up with Oyster Creek Inn (one of my favorite restaurants and the location of my rehearsal dinner). It was summer, so beautiful light wasn't difficult to find.

After starting to shoot, I realized I had no reason to be nervous. This beautiful couple was so much fun to work with, that I knew no matter what the pictures would come out great! Take a look!

My FAVORITE picture of the entire shoot.

I love when I get to be guests at my clients weddings and events!
Cant wait to celebrate with this beautiful couple!

Katie & Scott wanted to use one of the photographs for their Save The Date,
that is what the blank canvases are for.

This is the photo they picked for the front of their Save The Date.
Check back soon for the final design they picked to send to their guests.
